Ballangudelu Shri Padangare Bhagavathi Kshetra is one of the eighteen Bhagavathi kshethras located from Chandragiri river in Kasaragod District of Kerala State to Mulki (Shashihithlu) in Dhakshina Kannada District of Karnataka State.
In the picturesque village of Majibailu near Manjeshwar, in the sacred land of Ballangudelu located, the most ancient and causal power, the mother Shri Padangare Bhagavathi is worshiped by countless theistic devotees as Jaganmata and Annapurneswari without any caste or sect. 9 days Navratri, Tulaputhari on 10th of Libra, 7-day Kaliyata Mahotsava, one-day Vishu Sankraman and Pattanaje are observed by devotees with great devotion. There is a history that it was Veeraputhra who chose the holy land called Ballangudelu to be the first place where Shri Padangare Bhagavathi's mother wanted to settle down, so the temple and the main place is also located near Shri Padangare Bhagavathi Kshetra.
